SOFT TRANSITIONS

There are two main approaches to the choice of color curtains. The first approach is to choose a shade for curtains or curtains in the same color scheme as the main interior palette. But the combination of curtains and wallpaper in color should not be one hundred percent! The fabric should be either a little lighter, or a little darker. For example, if you decide to decorate a room in beige tones, the curtains may be ivory (ivory) or coffee tones.

BRIGHT CONTRAST

The second approach to the choice of color curtains - contrast. This approach allows you to create a stylish, bold and very expressive combination. It is easiest to work with pure colors: white and black, blue and red, yellow and green. But the final result may be aggressive, so you should consider the purpose of the room and the style of the interior. More softly the contrasts look in a softer palette: an example of such a combination are ivory and chocolate. Playing on contrasts is possible even in a pastel palette: very gentle and at the same time expressive interiors are obtained.

COMBINATION OF CURTAINS AND FURNITURE

Choosing curtains, you should consider not only the color of the walls, but also furniture. What options are possible here? The first solution: curtains and wallpaper are close in tone, but contrasted with the upholstery. For example, olive curtains, pistachio walls - and maroon-brown furniture. The second solution: the color of the curtains is matched to the tone of the furniture, contrasting with the finishing of the room. More complex compositions are also possible, which use three color positions. For example, red-white-black solutions are popular in minimalism.

CURTAINS AND INTERIOR TEXTILES

One of the most important laws of interior harmony is compliance of window frames with home textiles: decorative pillows, bedspreads, napkins, tablecloths. Sometimes both curtains and decorative textiles are sewn from the same fabric - this is a very interesting design decision. Exact match, of course, is not necessary. Enough to achieve harmony in the palette. But if patterns and patterns are repeated in textiles, they should be present at least in a curtain.
